<strong>Michael Kerin</strong> is Chair of Surgery at the University of Galway and Clinical Director of the OECI-accredited Cancer Centre for the West and North-West of Ireland. He is the incoming President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and serves as Research Director of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI).<br />
He is Principal Investigator on several national and international breast cancer programmes, including Precision Oncology Ireland (POI) and the All-Island Cancer Research Institute (AICRI), and is a co-investigator on major collaborative initiatives such as the Breast Cancer Association Consortium (BCAC).<br />
His research interests span molecular profiling, cancer risk prediction, breast cancer screening, and the development of innovative diagnostic and management approaches to breast cancer. He has secured more than €15 million in research funding, supervised 56 PhD or MD candidates, and authored or co-authored over 500 peer-reviewed publications. In 2024, he was awarded a Doctor of Science (DSc) by the National University of Ireland in recognition of his contribution to breast cancer research.

<strong>Elizabeth Morris </strong>M.D. is Professor and Chair of Radiology at the University of California, Davis (UCD) School of Medicine.  Dr. Morris graduated summa cum laude from UCD in Biochemistry and received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).  She completed her residency at Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) and a body/breast imaging fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) where she remained on faculty until December 2020 where she was the Chief of the Breast Imaging Service and Larry Norton Endowed Chair.<br />
Dr. Morris is a fellow of the American College of Radiology (ACR), Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) and International Society of MR in Medicine (ISMRM) and is past president of the SBI.  She was awarded the SBI gold medal in 2024.  She was the inaugural Equity Diversity &#038; Inclusion officer of the ISMRM and co-chair of the Women of ISMRM (WISMRM).  She is on the board of the Society of Chairs in Academic Radiology (SCARD) and currently serves as the Chair of the Council of Chairs at UCD.<br />
Her research focus is on how best to use newer techniques such as MRI for early breast cancer detection and to improve the workup of breast lesions.  In collaboration with her colleagues, she has written over 230 papers, 40 chapters, and 5 books about breast disease with an emphasis on the use of MRI.  She has lectures widely both nationally and internationally at over 320 conferences.  She has mentored over 50 international research fellows.  She has grants from NCI, RSNA, Komen Foundation, and Breast Cancer Research Foundation. She has authored a book “Breast MRI: Diagnosis &#038; Intervention”.  Her recent research efforts have involved looking at imaging biomarkers to assess risk and treatment response.

<strong>Philip Poortmans MD PhD</strong><br />
In 1986 I completed my medical studies at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. I was trained as a radiation oncologist at the Middelheim and Vincentius Hospitals in Antwerp.<br />
In 1991 I started as a radiation oncologist in Tilburg, The Netherlands. After chairing for 2.5 years the department of radiation oncology of the Radboud umc, Nijmegen, I took the same position at Institut Curie, Paris, France, in March 2017, which I left in November 2019. On the 150th birthdate of Marie Curie I was nominated Marie Curie Professor Paris Science &#038; Lettres – Institut Curie. In April 2020 I started a part-time medical advisory function for Sordina IORT Technologies spa. In July 2020, I started as radiation oncologist at Iridium Netwerk. Since October 2020, I am associate professor at the University of Antwerp, Belgium.<br />
Special interests: breast cancer, FLASH radiation therapy, IOeRT, malignant lymphoma and rare tumours.<br />
In 2005: PhD thesis on quality assurance in clinical trials in breast cancer at the University of Maastricht.<br />
Since 1992 active in the EORTC, currently member of the Lymphoma and Breast Groups; secretary Radiation Oncology Group  (2006-2015); Quality Assurance Committee of the EORTC (2003-2015).<br />
2005 – 2008: councillor of the board of ESTRO.<br />
2007 – 2010: representative for radiation oncology in the Multidisciplinary Oncology Committee of ESMO.<br />
2013-2014: President-Elect, 2014-2016 President and 2016-2018 Past-President of ESTRO.<br />
2016 – 2017: Chair of the ECCO Oncopolicy Committee.<br />
2017: President-Elect, 2018-2019 President and 2020 Past-President of ECCO.<br />
ESTRO School of Radiotherapy and Oncology (currently):<br />

Honorary membership of BVRO/ABRO since 2012, of ESSO since 2014, of SEOR since 2015, of AROI from 2016, of BIGOSA from 2016 and of JASTRO from 2017 on. 2011 and 2012 nominated as “Toparts” (Outstanding doctor) by the Dutch radiation oncologists. In 2016, I gave the Cridlan lecture during the meeting of the Association of Breast Surgery in Manchester, UK. I received the Jens Overgaard Award from ESTRO in 2019 and the Klaas Breur Award from ESTRO in 2020. On 17 March 2021, I received the St.Gallen Breast Cancer Award.<br />

<p><strong>Dr. Alistair Ring</strong> is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden. He undertook his pre-clinical training at the University of Cambridge and clinical training at the University of Oxford, qualifying in 1997. His oncology training was based at The Royal Marsden, St George’s and Guy’s Hospitals, London. He gained his MD research degree in 2005 from the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) at the University of London.<br />
In 2008 he was appointed as Senior Lecturer in Oncology at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, where he held various roles including Director of the Brighton NIHR Clinical Research Facility. In 2014 he was appointed Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden.<br />
He has specialist interests in the management of metastatic and early breast cancer and the management of cancer in older patients. He has a major interest in research, and is UK lead for a number of research studies examining the roles of aspirin and modern targeted drugs in the management of breast cancer. He is Chair of the Committee for Clinical Research at The Royal Marsden and the ICR. Dr Ring has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and in 2015, edited the textbook Problem Solving in Older Cancer Patients and in 2017 Breast Cancer Survivorship.<br />
In 2018 Dr Ring was appointed Honorary Reader in Breast Cancer Clinical Trials, at the Institute of Cancer Research.</div>
