Announcement from Austrade
Australian Government’s Business Events Grants program
On 11 March 2021 the Australian Government announced an extension to the Business Events Grants program and changes to the program guidelines.
- The minimum grant amount will be reduced to $5,000 (from $10,000) to allow smaller businesses the opportunity to apply.
- The program will be extended to support events scheduled through to 31 March 2022. This will allow events that were postponed early 2021 the opportunity to benefit from the program.
- The number of delegates covered by the grant and the sponsorship cap will be increased.
- Priority sectors will be expanded.
Applications for the grant will be extended to 30 June 2021. Expressions of interest (EOIs) for event owners to have their event included on the Schedule of Approved Business Events will also re-open shortly.
Updated program guidelines, eligibility criteria for the Schedule of Approved Business Events and key dates will be available on the Austrade website at the end of March.
The Business Grants Hub are continuing to process grant applications and these remain open. You do not need to take any further action if you have submitted a grant application.
Austrade is also finalising the remaining EOIs for the Schedule of Approved Business Events. If you have submitted an EOI and not received an outcome we will contact you in the next week. The Schedule of Approved Business Events is regularly updated as more events are approved.
Please check the website for any program updates.
