My clinical practice is devoted solely to treatment of breast cancer patients. My research focuses on improving clinical outcomes in breast cancer patients and reducing toxicities related to radiation treatment for breast cancer. I am engaged in 3 lines of research: 1) Developing clinical trials that examine rationale combinations of radiation with DNA repair-based therapy or immunotherapy in patients with refractory/recurrent triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) 2) Applying innovative medical physics techniques (i.e. intensity modulated radiation therapy; IMRT) in order to minimize radiation toxicities for breast cancer patients with implant reconstructions 3) Identifying novel imaging modalities that can serve as early surrogates of cardiotoxicities following radiation for breast cancer.
