Awards

The Scientific Committee of the 2nd Australasian International Breast Congress (AIBC) invites physicians, scientists and researchers to submit abstracts for consideration in one of the following three distinguished competitions, offering a valuable platform to highlight your research and be recognized with a significant award.

1. Best Abstract Award

All abstracts which have been selected as an oral presentation will automatically be entered into the Best Abstract Competition, and will be judged on site.

The winner will receive the following prize:

  • One-week clinical rotation at the Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Houston, Texas*
  • Round-trip airfare provided by United Airlines**
  • Grant in the amount of US$1250 to cover accommodation in Houston during the rotation, as well as additional travel expenses.

*   Rotation must take place between January 1, 2027 and October 1, 2027.
** Travel must be completed by October 10, 2027.

2. Young Scientist Award

Eligible to young physicians, scientists and researchers of 35 years old or less whose abstract has been selected as an oral presentation.

Submitters must be born in 1991 or after. When submitting your abstract, please include your date of birth.

The winner will be awarded a certificate and cash prize.

3. Best Poster Award

All abstracts which have been selected as a poster presentation will automatically be entered into the Best Poster Competition.

Posters will be reviewed on site.

The winner will be awarded a certificate and cash prize.

Guidelines for participation in the competitions:

  • Abstracts must be submitted via the congress website no later than Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
  • Submitters must be the first author of the abstract.
  • Only abstracts of registered and paid participants will be considered.
  • Attendance at the Congress by the winner is mandatory in order to receive and collect the award.
  • Winner(s) who cancel for any reason will not be entitled to collect their award.

Award Ceremony

Certificates and prizes will be presented to the winners at the Congress Closing and Award Ceremony which will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 16:15.
