Julia Matheson
Julia Matheson is a Breast Surgeon at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Otago, then completed a DPhil (PhD) in cancer genetics at the University of Oxford where she studied as a Rhodes Scholar. She did General Surgery training through the Royal Melbourne Hospital followed by BreastSurgANZ Post-Fellowship training at Monash Health and Fiona Stanley Hospital.
She is an honorary fellow at the University of Melbourne and a previous Breast Cancer Trials Clinical Fellow. Her current research focuses on the use of contrast enhanced mammography for breast cancer surveillance and patient reported outcomes in health technology assessment.
