
Dr Amy Tang MBBS, FRANZCOG, CGO is a Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH), where she specialises in the management of gynaecological cancers and hereditary cancer syndromes. She is an active clinician in the QBRCA Clinic, providing multidisciplinary care for women with BRCA1, BRCA2 and other hereditary cancer predisposition syndromes, with expertise in cancer risk assessment, surveillance, and risk-reducing surgery.
Dr Tang completed her medical degree at The University of Queensland and undertook subspecialty training in gynaecological oncology across Australia and internationally, including an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national and international scientific meetings.
Her research interests focus on the prevention of hereditary gynaecological cancers, surgical innovation, and improving quality of life for women at increased genetic risk of ovarian cancer. At RBWH, Dr Tang is an investigator on the international TUBA-WISP II study, evaluating risk-reducing salpingectomy with delayed oophorectomy as an alternative to standard risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy for women with hereditary ovarian cancer predisposition. She is also actively involved in teaching and she is the training supervisor for the subspecialist trainees in Queensland. She is committed to advancing evidence-based, patient-centred care through clinical research and multidisciplinary collaboration.
